Tracker lets users track file system activities, finding not just what files have been modified but also what files have been accessed, and even where 'untrusted' software tries to cover its tracks.
Third party software is getting nastier and meaner. Tracker makes sure you see where those 'unknown and untrusted' programs go. And it also shows you what they try to read - something Apple's Spotlight technology won't tell you. If even shows you what programs are going to run before they run.
Author's Note: The first time you use Tracker you'll be prompted for your administrator passphrase. 'This is unavoidable. If you want Tracker to be able to go where the bad guys go it has to have the same authentication. But after that first authorisation you're never prompted again - and your passphrase is not stored anywhere either.'
Intel compatible.
