ClamXav is a free virus checker for Mac OS X. It uses the tried, tested and very popular ClamAV open source antivirus engine as a back end.
Author's Note: Please note: Since the release of Mac OS X 10.5, I no longer have the resources to maintain a version of ClamXav on 10.3 (Panther) so it's possible that future versions of ClamXav will cease to operate correctly under Panther. For as long as my aging PowerBook continues to breathe, I will continue to provide packaged installers for the ClamAV engine under 10.3. Other than that, I'm afraid I can't make any promises. Sorry.
