The Asrock board comes with an nvidia chipset and a lot of onboard stuff.
The board supports AM2-Single- and Dual-Core-AMD-CPUs, so if you use the latter, do not forget to add SMB support to your kernel (as well as to your USE flags, if you are using Gentoo). Both 64 and 32 Bit-Systems are supported.
The ACPI-System is recognized by every Kernel with ACPI-Support, a timeout-bug is avoided automatically.
The graphic 2D/3D is supported by the proprietary nvidia driver (emerge nvidia-drivers, be sure not to include the nvidia DRI module in your kernel config), 2D is supported by xorg's nv driver, 3D by the nouveau-project is on the way (to be expected somewhat late 2007), framebuffer works fine with vesa-tng driver.
High Definition Sound works out of the box with the intel-hda ALSA driver.
IDE/SATA is handled by an NFORCE-MCP51, works out of the box with usual kernel config.
The board features OHCI/EHCI USB controllers.
Ethernet is provided by the nforce chip using the driver module forcedeth.ko.
Gentoo 2006.1, kernel 2.6.19, xorg-7.1 - I keep it fresh :-)
