You need do nothing special to use these little beauties under Linux of any kind. I've used Gentoo, RedHat, FreeBSD and Debian on these machines with absolutely no problems.

At first I tried to install fedora 10 but the installation failed (don't remember why)
So I tried Ubuntu Server 9.04 and it worked from the first time.

Still trying to figure out how to configure smartd with the hardware raid...

It works with Ubuntu 6.06, but the cdrom drive is incompatible with 8.04 and 9.10.
