This card advertises linux compatibilty but only when you open the box does it tell you this means linux 2.4, with packages only for Redhat 9.0 and SUSE 9. The driver is partially closed source. This means it will not work on any 2.6 setup such as Fedora Core 4.

Installed openSUSE 10.1 with SATA Card.
This is the only distro (tested on Debian, Mandriva and Gentoo) that detected the card with the sata-promise driver on installation.

If a RAID is installed, Suse prompts you to either delete your array and use a software raid since only kernel 2.6.4 supports the card.
