When I try and start the game I get "Not enough RAM". Aparentlly I only have 2MB (In reality I have 4GB) of free memory since since the game require at least 32MB I can't run it.

Didn't worked on my previous Win XP Pro 512 RAM PC for 5 years...
Windows Vista:
Intalled fine. Works great!
But... When I tried to use cheats or a trainer... it crashes.
It even crashes with the in-game cheats.
But in the end... it WORKS!!! YAY!!!

I had a problem with no memory available running with Vista Ultimate 64bit 4gb ram.
I just found that if you need to run it in Windows 98 compatibility mode, then it works great! No problem with sound, joystick - anything!
Right click on the Freespace icon, select properties and then compatibility tab, choose win98 comp and youre smooth sailing

I've tried it in compatibilityy mode Win98/me & XP (SP2) but it still does not work.
I have AMD 6000+ 2 core + 4gb Memory.
ATI Radeon 2400 Pro gfx card.
All graphics drivers are fully upto date
And using Catalyst Driver Packaging Version 8.541-080923a-069996C-ATI
Have also reinstalled 3 times.
I keep getting this error
Error:
Web cursor bitmap not found. This is most likely due to one of three reasons:
1) You're running FreeSpace Open from somewhere other than your FreeSpace 2 folder;
2) You've somehow corrupted your FreeSpace 2 installation;
3) You haven't installed FreeSpace 2 at all.
Number 1 can be fixed by simply moving the FreeSpace Open executable file to the FreeSpace 2 folder. Numbers 2 and 3 can be fixed by installing or reinstalling FreeSpace 2. If neither of these solutions fixes your problem, you've found a bug and should report it.

Its installed in C:/Games/Freespace2
Also tried installling into the the x86 folder.

Vista labels the installer as a "16-bit Setup Launcher" and I assume this to be the cause, though I thought 16-bit apps still worked in the x86 Vista.
