Yet another generic Taiwanese network card. this one doesn&apos;t even have an FCC ID, which makes it illegal to sell in the US, but these strip-mall PC builders don&apos;t care. The chip set is the Lucent/Agere HERMES I. Same thing you&apos;d find in an Oronoco Silver. But having an unknown device name, the hotplug and udevd deamons don&apos;t recognize it and run your ifup scripts. So you don&apos;t get that slick just slide it in and you&apos;re on the net behavior. The stock Debian kernel recognizes it and loads the driver, but then you have to invoke the DHCP client yourself.
