Bought lot of four IBM NetVista 6794, one would not boot CentOS4 (RHEL4) at all -- froze during both liveCD and install CD. On the other hand, two worked fine no problems.

Either one system had flaky hardware, or else there were significant BIOS/motherboard variations through the life of the NetVista 6794 product line and some work with linux and some don't.

Amusingly one of the systems had Windows XP refuse to install while CentOS installed fine! Never had that happen before!

Ubuntu and XP won't go on my netvista. I think it has something to do with a security chip. Still working on it.
