Problem with 'large-file' and 'many-files' transfers as above on linux.
If you have a solution for linux, please post it.

Failure chance does seem to be lowered by "warming up" the flash drive (leaving plugged in for a few minutes, transferring a few small files back and forth from flash drive, etc)
Product also has a tendency to fail when left plugged in long-term (>4 hours)
