Running this game under DOSbox with config file changes listed below the link resulted in execution that almost perfectly mimicked the execution on my old Compaq Presario 9546, 100mhz cpu, running under win95/dos? (aka Dos95 if you find that version as amusing as I do)

look for dosbox.config, essentially formatted like any ini/config file, and try the following modifications, then make adjustments from there...

note that the headers are placed for you to find the settings easily, not delete the other neccessary data ;)

also, backup the original conf file, (i.e. copy & rename [the copy of] it to backup.conf or dosbox_conf.bak or some such thing)
