There are problems with sound and lan drivers in every linux distribution, I tried suse 10.1, mandriva 2006, kubuntu (some new :) slackware 10.2. If was sound ok then lan no etc. You have to reinstall drivers

Simply Mepis 6.5, 64 bit, 32 bit, SimplyMepis6.9 32bit, and Sabayon64-3.3b all boot and run.
Mepis6.5-64 bit runs fine, sound is great, no issues with LAN and a Sceptre X9 Naga 19" is hooked to the DVI onboard connector. It worked well on the SVGA onboard connector, too.
If anyone reports issues with any product, we haul them into our monthly Installfest and demonstrate the errors of their ways.
It is the plague of noobs, to complain, instead of solve, a 'problem' or 'issue'. Similar whining is on most support forums. Noobs, RTFM.
