Christmas Lights Videos
tomas316's TIVO sent Jason the following video's in quick-time format.Looks like Internet Exploder has to slurp 'em all down before it starts playing (so have patience), but Firefox can stream it right away - yet another reason to switch to Firefox!

one minute (5.9 Mbytes) Tech TV segment that had me rolling - I had no idea these guys were checking things out. This air'ed on Monday, December 13th, which ironically was a day after the Slashdotting that they talk about in this short segment. Too bad I'm a (happily) married guy, as the perky Chi-Lan sounds like she is making a move for me when she says "want a piece of this Komarnitsky - come and get it!"

Channel 9 segment (17 MBytes) that aired the evening of 12/14 ... and
here's a picture of their reporter (watch those high heels!) courtesy of yours truly!

Fox segment (6.2 MBytes) that aired the evening of 12/14.

Alek goes airborne in Air-Tracker 7 (17.0 Mbytes) for a UNIQUE view of the Christmas Lights! Here are pictures
just before we took off andof the christmas lights from 1,000 feet AGL on Wed, 12/15.

Warner Brothers Channel 2 live interview for their morning show - 20 MBytes) Sounds is garbled a bit on the recording ... plus whenver I hold a kid, it's reflex to rock 'em.

And here is a 47 second (2.2 MBytes) movie of the Christmas Lights in action with reporting from yours truly! ;-)

This movie is Window Media Video format (.wmv) and work fine on Win XP systems using Media Player. Your browser may NOT understand the format "directly", and if so, save the link as a file (do a right-click on the link, and select "Save Target As") and then try running it locally.
I do lights, not video, so I can't save as another format. Thanx to some Christmas Lights Webcam Fans BrianE and tomas316, they sent Jason copies at AVI and quick-time format.
Finally, check out the sounds of Christmas which includes a Salute to Real Men of Genius - Mr. Too Many Christmas Decorations Guy.
While most people look at the Christmas Lights, you can actually "hear" them also, since the X10 Super Sockets have a mechanical relay - click here to HEAR the Christmas lights go on and off and on and off and on and ...
- I recorded this with a cruddy microphone, so sorry about the lousy quality ... a big thanx to BobH who cleaned 'em up a bit for me.
And remember those Bud Lights radio commercials saluting "True American Heroes" such as "Mr. Restroom Toilet Paper Re-Filler" ... wellll, special thanx to the Christmas Elf who Emailed me this audio clip where they "Salute Real Men of Genius - Mr. Too Many Christmas Decorations Guy."
Christmas Lights Video after the Wall Street Journal Article
Channel 9 correction - I love the "big breath" as he starts the story, but very fair correction - nice job guys!
BTW, if someone else has the Channel-7 6:00 News "correction" (and I use that term very loosely), let me know.
Channel 7 correction from the morning news - now these guys did a MUCH nicer job that the evening guys the night before - class act guys, heck you even yucked it up on the air - I bet you were one of the 84% who voted me funny on your on-line poll! Plus you correctly said that I "revealed the hoax because it got outa hand" ... how 'bout giving your online guys a holler who (even after correcting my name in the story 2 hours after you aired), are still showing that the Wall Street Journal "uncovered the ruse" which is completely incorrect.
