Continuum is backup software that complements Time Machine on Mac OS X. Continuum works with your MobileMe iDisk or Amazon S3 storage bucket. You choose which one in the Setup Assistant. You can keep up to 10 GB of remotely stored backup files. These files are compressed, so the original files on your Mac can be larger. The backups are also encrypted, for added privacy and security.

Where Time Machine makes hourly backups to a local hard disk or network server, Continuum makes daily backups to an iDisk or S3 storage bucket. It takes your backups off-site and on-line, helping insure against Time Machine disk failures.

Backups can be restored to any Mac running OS 10.5 Leopard or 10.6 Snow Leopard. Just launch Continuum on that computer, enter the original storage acount info and encryption passphrase, and Continuum's single-button Restore will recover every backed-up file from remote storage.
