Exif Untrasher is a tool that will try to locate images on your camera’s memory card (CF card, SD card, memory stick or anything else) and save them to your Mac. It won’t succeed in every case, but a lot of people got pretty good results using it. (And even if it fails, it doesn’t make things worse, as it does not alter the memory card.)

Author's Notes:
• To be able to use Exif Untrasher, the camera’s memory card must be mounted as a volume on your Mac. If your camera doesn’t support that, you can still use an external card reader, which is a very cheap piece of hardware nowadays.
• Moreover, only JPEG images can be rescued—there’s neither support for RAW nor for movies of any type.
• Exif Untrasher has been used successfully to restore photos taken with various camera models by different manufacturers—among others: Fuji, Kodak, Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax and Ricoh.
