mBrowserX is an advanced version of mBrowser. It uses ffmpeg to decode movies so that Auto shot can be used for a number of media formats beyond what mBrowser can handle. ffmpeg supports such media formats as AVI, DIVX, DV, FLV, MKV, MOV, MP4, MPEG, MTV, SWF, WMV (WMV7, WMV8, WMV9). But a bad side effect of using ffmpeg is that it can take half a minute or longer to make a movie profile, especially the movie format is MKV.

mBrowserX also uses mplayer so that the user can play back movies free of QuickTime limitations. In order to play back a movie, select a movie thumbnail and simply click on the Play button. To quit, press Q. And use arrow keys to rewind and forward frames.
