Pixadex is to icons, what Apple's iPhoto is to images. Brought to you by Panic and The Iconfactory, the team who created
CandyBar, Pixadex lets you import, organize and search huge numbers of icons quickly & easily. Pixadex lets you store all of your icons in a single place, organized into collections that you create.
Features:
-Smart Collections:
Create dynamic, smart collections just like Apple's iTunes software. Pixadex lets you create collections that are based on specific search terms like author, keywords, URLs and more. Because they are dynamic, Smart Collections are always up to date and include the latest icons added to your icon library.
-Nested Folders and Custom Collection Icons:
Organize your icon collections to your heart's content with an infinite level of nested folders. Now you can categorize collections into folders inside of folders based on website, author or whatever else you can think of. Also, the collection icons appearing in the List Pane are now customizable, so you can identify your collections at a glance.
-Spotlight Integration:
Pixadex supports searches via Apple's popular Spotlight software introduced with Tiger - Mac OS X 10.4. Search for an item in the Finder, and if it is an icon in your Pixadex icon library, Spotlight will find it for you automatically and even highlight it within My Icons in Pixadex. Finding your icons has never been easier!
-Import Image Files:
Pixadex supports the importing of various image files for use as icons. Drag and drop PNGs, TIFFs, JPEGs and more into Pixadex and the program instantly formats them for use as desktop icons. This feature is a handy and quick way to convert photos for use as icons on the Mac desktop.
