NetRestore is a software deployment tool developed in AppleScript Studio. You can use NetRestore to restore a master disk image to a computer's hard disk while that disk image is hosted locally, on a network via AFP, or on the internet via HTTP.
NetRestore can also be used in conjunction with NetBoot to fully automate the deployment of a lab full of machines. NetRestore was designed to be very easy to use, yet flexible, powerful, and extensible.
Finally, NetRestore is based on the Mac OS X native version of Apple Software Restore, so your deployment will be fast and accurate.
New in this version:
- NetRestore: Fixed some math in the boot_camp.sh pre-action partitioning script.
- NetRestore Helper:
- Resolved an issue on 10.4.10 in which a critical framework, new to 10.4.10, was not available on the NetInstall-Restore image.
- Fixed a bug in which the "Check for updates at startup" setting would not be updated properly in the interface if set to "Never".
Requirements:
-OS X 10.4 or higher
-OS X Server 10.4.7 or higher for NetRestore PHPServices
-ARD 3.0 or higher required for ARD integration
-Intel-based Mac + Windows XP required for dual-boot deployment
