SwitchResX is a tool designed to manage resolutions of all your monitors.

Features:
-Gives you access to most of your monitor settings within its customizable menus (in the Menu Bar or on the Finder Desktop with a Contextual Menu Plugin). SwitchResX incorporates features relative to the Monitor Resolution, Color Depth, Video Mirroring, Display Rotation into one single utility.
-Lets save positions of the icons on the desktop, positions of the Finder windows, and restore them automatically when the resolution is changed.
-Specialized features allow you to link your monitor settings with system events: Key shortcut pressed, Apple Scripts, Application launched.
-Advanced features lets you enable more resolutions, or even create new resolutions for your monitor, HDTV, Plasma screen or Video Projector. This advanced feature is very powerful for users requesting complete control over their display resolution

New in this version:
SwitchResX 4 is a complete rewrite in Cocoa. The Control Panel and the Daemon have been completely rewritten from scratch, the Contextual Menu, the Menu Extra and the APE module have been adapted to the new environment used by the new main modules.
SwitchResX 4 main modules (Control Panel and Daemon) are also compiled in 64-bit mode for Snow Leopard. The Menu Extra is 64-bit compatible, but the Contextual Menu plugin isn't, as Snow Leopard doesn't support these modules any more. APE module is not compatible with Snow Leopard as of today.
No installer any more: SwitchResX 4 auto-installs its modules where they need to be
All texts (Display Sets names, Monitor names, etc.) are Unicaode savvy and no more limited to 255 characters
Functions to create new resolutions should be easier to apprehend
SwitchResX4 asks for an admin password only when it needs it
Still AppleScript-able and AppleScript Recordable

License: SwitchResX 4 is a free upgrade for registered users of SwitchResX 3, and a $14 upgrade for users of SwitchRes2. Existing registration codes will continue to work.

Limitations: You can try the program without any limitation for a period of 10 days.
