JackWidget is a multi-purpose search tool. It provides quick access to dozens of commonly used web searches.

JackWidget has a search field and a popup menu. The search field, of course, is for typing in the search. The popup menu is for selecting which site or sites to search. Some of the popup items actually send your search to several websites at once. It's as easy as typing in some search terms, choosing a search from the popup menu, and hitting return. The widget activates Safari and executes the search(es). It also supports command line interface style usage, allowing the user to bypass the popup menu. It has over two dozen searches built in, and is infinitely customizable (if you know how to open a widget package and edit XML files).

New in this version:
Widget instances now remember their search settings when the Dashboard layer is restarted. (Essentially this means you can open several instances of the widget, choose different searches on the popup menu, log out, log back in, go to the Dashboard layer, and each instance of the widget will remember which search was selected in the popup.)
Added tooltips to the search field. Allows you to see the hint for the search even when there is text in the field. Added jux2 to simultaneously search Google, Yahoo and MSN, and added Melissadata.com to the address to latitude and longitude search.
